********************* Milestone Mobile 2014 ********************* This ReadMe file provides information about last minute changes to the product, license information, how to contact product support, and more. ---------- Important: ---------- The Milestone Mobile client support devices running Android 2.2 and higher, or iOS 7 and higher. XProtect® Web Client supports the recent versions of the major web browsers, with HTML5 and JavaScript enabled. The Direct Streaming Plugin supports Firefox on Windows and OS X and Safari on OS X. To use Milestone Mobile or XProtect Web Client, your camera(s) must be connected to an XProtect® video management system, and you must have a Milestone Mobile server installed and configured. -------------------- Known Server Issues: -------------------- If the user used to connect the Milestone Mobile Server to the surveillance server does nott have administrative rights, there is not an option to create a MIP plugin entry and to manage settings for this Milestone Mobile server. To upgrade a Milestone Mobile server using custom HTTPS certificates may require administrators to reapply the certificates. Adding a child server to MFA setup requires a restart of the Milestone Mobile server (or that you wait for up to six minutes) for the configuration changes to be detected. Enabling the full-size images option in MIP Plugin turns off the Maximum Output Control support in XProtect Web Client and in full-screen mode of the Milestone Mobile client. Enabling or disabling the full-size images setting in MIP Plugin does not affect the currently connected clients. The new setting takes effect on the next client login. The Milestone Mobile server cannot use certificates created with a quotation mark character in passwords. The Milestone Mobile server installer may not be able to configure the firewall for the network profiles that are not active at the time of the installation. This prevents the Milestone Mobile server from connecting to the surveillance server and will require a manual firewall configuration or a reinstallation of the Milestone Mobile server. Adding Video Push camera may not be possible if the default firewall rules have been changed on the machine where the Milestone Mobile server is installed. To enable Video Push, create an incoming traffic rule allowing the port used by the camera through the firewall. Upgrading the Milestone Mobile server may require the user to examine and save the Video Push settings in the Management Application before pushing video for the first time. Adding a Milestone Mobile server as hardware device for Video Push does not work if the Milestone Mobile server address is set as "127.0.0.1". Use "localhost" instead. If auto-export on motion is set up for Video Push cameras, and auto-export is in progress, restarting services results in an erroneous auto-export made due to Video Push channel initialization. If you uninstall the Milestone Mobile server, it does not delete custom-provided user certificates (if used) from the Personal Certificates store. If you uninstall Milestone Mobile server, it does not remove its entry from the registered mobile services list if the Milestone Mobile server is located on a remote machine. System administrators can manually remove the server entry. After you restart the Milestone Mobile server, add, or update a Video Push channel configuration, the server may need up to 30 seconds to apply the new configuration. While this is going on, you cannot push video from the connected Milestone Mobile clients. Removing permissions to create database exports for a given user and camera takes effect when the Milestone Mobile Server is restarted or by waiting for up to six minutes for the configuration changes to be detected. During this time, the user can still create rules for generating automatic exports in the Milestone Mobile server configuration, and view the already created exports for that camera. After deleting a camera, only the user who created the exports can access them. Enabling the auto-export functionality on too many cameras can cause many auto-exports to queue up, which significantly increases the load on the Milestone Mobile server's CPU. If the Milestone Mobile server's CPU is under high load, the management plugin may experience difficulties connecting to the Milestone Mobile server. -------------------- Known Client Issues: -------------------- The Direct Streaming plug-in for XProtect Web Client cannot be installed with the default security policies on Windows Server 2012. Use the gpedit.msc command to edit the policy setting for Windows Installer and set it to fully enabled before installing the plugin. Playback in backward direction may not run smoothly when Direct Streaming is enabled in XProtect Web Client for cameras using video codecs with strong compression. XProtect Web Client may disconnect after some time if opened in a background tab in a mobile browser (such as Safari on iPad). Users with no rights to access sequences cannot create exports with XProtect Web Client, nor navigate to a specific time, previous or next sequence in playback mode. Video Push on HTC Desire with Android 2.2 will not support camera resolutions of 1280x720 or higher. If you use XProtect Web Client with Safari running on an iOS device (such as an iPad), this may lead the browser to close due to a JavaScript memory management issue in some versions of Safari. Milestone recommends that you use the native Milestone Mobile iOS client, or another browser (such as Google Chrome). If you use XProtect Web Client with Internet Explorer 9 running on Lenovo notebooks, the browser may stop responding after login. This is due to an issue with Lenovo video drivers and IE9. Milestone recommends that you use another browser in this case (such as Firefox). ---------- Licensing: ---------- See the Milestone End-user License Agreement for details on installation and use. ---------------- Product Support: ---------------- For product support, please contact your Milestone XProtect vendor.
